01 Arrival Chennai
Met on arrival & transfer to hotel for overnight
stay.
Day 02 Chennai - Pondicherry
Drive to Pondicherry covering a distance of 165 kms.
On arrival, check in at your hotel. Rest of the day
is set aside for sight-seeing of Pondicherry A French
colony till 1954, this city borders the ocean &
still has a distinctly french flavor to it with its
mediterrain water front & cobbled streets. Your
tour takes you to the Aurbindo Ashram, Auroville &
the Matri Mandir. Overnight at hotel. |

Day 03 Pondicherry - Tiruchirapally
Drive to Tiruchirappally covering a distance of 196 kms. On
arrival, check in at your hotel. Later, proceed for city tour
of Trichy visiting the rock fort temple, which sits atop a
massive rock outcrop & dominates the town. Climb the 275-ft
via a tunnel to the top for magnificent views of the temple
complex visit the island of Srirangam, a massive Vishnu temple
with seven walls. Evening at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 04 Tiruchirapally - Madurai
Drive to Madurai covering a distance of 128 kms. On arrival
check in at hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 05 In Madurai
City tour of Madurai -- your tour takes you to the shree mennakshi
temple -- one of India's biggest & most important temples
complexes. Built in Dravidian style -- one for shiva &
one for his spouse Meenakshi. Also visit the Teppa Kulum --
a tank with a island temple and tirumalainaik palace -- 1000
pillared hall. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 06 Madurai - Periyar
Drive to Periyar covering a distance of 150 kms. On arrival,
check in at hotel. Later, go game-viewing by boat in the sanctuary.
Evening at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 07 Periyar - Cochin
Early in the morning, go game-viewing by boat in the sanctuary.
Drive to Kottayam. From Kottayam to Alleppey, take a leisurely
boat ride; from Alleppey, drive to Cochin covering a distance
of 200 kms. Arrive at Cochin late in the evening and check
in at hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 08 In Cochin
City tour of Cochin – your tour takes you to the Dutch palace,
Jewish synagouge, Chinese fishing nets, St. Francis church
& Santa Cruz church. Rest of the day at leisure. Over
night at hotel.
Day 09 Cochin – Bangalore 9W-3512 (0820-0940)
Transfer to airport to connect flight for Bangalore. Met on
arrival & transfer to hotel. Later, proceed for a city
tour of Bangalore -- your tour of the Garden city takes you
to the Lal Bagh botanical gardens -- set out in the 18th century
with rare trees & vegetation. The Bull temple -- where
the awesome monolithic deity Nandi draws devotees from all
over the country. The Vidhan Sudha -- with it's imposing edifice
built almost entirely of Bangalore granite, is one of the
most important landmarks of the city. Evening at leisure.
Overnight at hotel.
Day 10 Bangalore - Mysore
Drive to Mysore covering a distance of 139 kms. Enroute, visit
Srirangapatnam. On arrival, check in at hotel. Later, proceed
for a city tour of Mysore – your tour of the Sandlwood city
takes you to the Mysore palace -- one of the largest &
most splendid of its kind. This Indo - Saracenic biuilding
has among other things, stained glass chamber ceilings, a
carved silver door, a solid gold throne & a gallery of
exquisite paintings. Next visit the Chamundi hills with spetacular
views from the Shiva temple & the five Mt. high Nandi
Bull sculpture. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 11 Mysore - Madras
Drive to Madras covering a distance of 450 kms. On arrival,
check in at hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12 Madras – Back Home
City tour of Madras visiting the Museum to see the Art Bronze
Gallery, drive through the Flower & Fruit market, High
Court, Fort Museum, Marina beach, Santhome Cathedral &
the Snake park. Evening transfer to airport to connect flight
for onward destination.
