ANDHRA PRADESH BEACHES
Kalingapatnam
Located in Srikakulam district, it is being developed as a beach resort by Andhra Pradesh Tourism.
Kottapatnam
Kottapatnam is located about 18 km from Ongole town and is one of the beaches close from Ongole town. The beach is clean and serves as a popular recreational spot for the nearby villagers.
Krishnapatnam
In Nellore district on the southern tip of Andhra Pradesh, it has a clean beach.
Manginapudi (Machilipatnam)
Mac hilipatnam is the headquarters town of Krishna district. Known for its Kalamkari art, it was a major port once and was known as "Bandar". In fact, the British preferred Machilipatnam as their gateway to India.
Motupalle
Motapalle village is about 1 2 km from Chinaganjam and 45 km from Ongole. The land abutting the beach is lined with casuarina plantations providing an excel lent backdrop to the clean beaches here.
KERALA BEACHES
Kovalam Beach
Kovalam is a very famous beach resort all over the world. Since 1930's the international tourists, especially the Europeans, frequent the Kovalam Beach. Kovalam along with the crescent-shaped beaches bordered by coconut and palm trees makes for a splendid setting for a sun and sea bathing.
The Lighthouse Beach is the southern most beaches and is popular among the tourists who spend most of their time at this beach.
Alappuzha Beach
Referred to as the Venice of the East, Alappuzha has always enjoyed a unique place in the maritime history of Kerala. Today, it is famous for its boat races, backwater holidays, beaches, marine products and coir industry.
Alappuzha beach is a popular picnic spot. The pier, which extends into the sea here, is over 137 years old. Entertainment facilities at the Vijaya Beach Park add to the attraction of the beach. There is also an old lighthouse nearby which is greatly fascinating to visitors.
Kozhikode Beach
Kozhikode, the most important region of Malabar in yesteryears, was the capital of the powerful Zamorins and also a prominent trade and commerce center. It was here at Kappad that Vasco Da Gama landed in his search for the spices of the Orient.
Today the serene beaches, lush green countryside, historic sites, all combine to make this a popular tourist destination filled with a warm ambience.
